Berber music and culture is finally being given the recognition and value it deserves. It’s fun, fast, colourful and highly entertaining.

The festivals in Fez celebrates this wonderful culture and although at a relatively hot time of year, really worth a visit.

This year, the festival will be taking place from Friday the 22nd of May until Saturday the 30th of May. It’s one of many fantastic music festivals that happen every year in Morocco. Fes is an ancient city with a huge cultural history so if you can see the festival and visit the city at the same time it’s great combination.

Here’s a link to the blog “The View from Fes” where you’ll find translation of the festival program as well as lots of information about Fes and Morocco in general:

We have recorded some songs of the traditional Moroccan music we play at the riad.

We take a percentage of all Cds we sell and give it to a local orphanage.

Click here to listen to the CD and Simon’s other musical projects.

Better still, come and hear it live at the riad!
